What is a canelé?

A canelé (pronounced “Can-nu-LAY”) is a traditional French pastry from the Bordeaux region of France. It is a custard that contains a bit of flour and is infused with vanilla bean and rum. Canelés have a deep golden brown and very caramelized exterior crust, which yields to a soft and creamy interior.

Truly, they are hard to describe because there is nothing else that can compare to a canelé. But take our word for it, they are absolutely delicious.
